6 Ways to Create a Growth Mindset

Do you ever find yourself stuck in a rut? Not feeling like you’re where you need to be just yet? Things just aren’t going your way? The Difference between feeling like this and… well, not … is your mindset. Is it fixed? Or do you have a Growth Mindset?

A Growth Mindset is all about resilience & abundance! It is the underlying belief that you are in control of your own ability, and can learn and improve. This will take some practice to cultivate.

Here are a few ways to create a growth mindset in your everyday life:

1. STOP Seeking Approval - Seek to learn instead.

When you seek approval and outside opinions, you risk limiting your own potential and growth. Don’t put yourself into a box by trying to live according to other people’s expectations. Prioritize learning over approval.

2. Remember Your “Why”

Keep the big picture in mind. In the long run, everything you encounter will lead up to something great! It may not all be easy, and the path won’t always be straight forward, but it will definitely be worth it.

3. View Failures as a Lesson, Not a Loss.

View imperfections, flaws and failures as obstacles to overcome and lessons to be learned rather than a permanent loss. Failures help you to view areas of weakness, and allow you to make strategic plans to take action to change and improve them.

4. Focus on the Positive

“Gratitude is the antidote to anxiety”

Start by finding 3 things each day to be grateful for. After a while, your mind will automatically begin to point out the positives in ALL situations and you’ll be able to creatively solve problems in your everyday life.

5. Eliminate Negative Self-Talk

“Life and death is in the power of your tongue”. Eliminate words and phrases like “I’m broke”, “I can’t” and “Never” from your vocabulary. We can literally speak new life over yourself, it’s our superpower. Let’s use it wisely!

6. Waiting is Not Bad Timing, it is PERFECT Timing.

Understand that where you are now is exactly where you need to be. You are being prepared for who you are meant to be. If you’re not where you want to be just yet, look at what you can work to perfect and improve on, now, during this developmental stage.
